For the 2010 Twinning Weekend, Lichfield TTC again sent a team to Ste Foy.
Unfortunately Limburg could not send a team, but that just meant we had to eat and drink their share too!

After the civic reception (above) where all travellers met their hosts, we were taken back to their homes.
From parts of Ste Foy there is a tremendous view over Lyon, and of their famous Basilica. |

This is what it looks like close up.... |
...and inside. |
Some of the many steps around the town. |

A tour of Lyon included the old quarter and the theatre (above right). |

|
Lyon has many buildings decorated to fool the eye (trompe d’oeil). Both of these are flat walls, painted rather imaginatively. |

Saturday finished with the "Friendship Evening" |
|
With a "Friendship Drink" at the Irish Tavern to finish it off. |

Sunday saw us all assemble for the table tennis tournament.
This was preceded by a hearty lunch and wine, all of which was (I am sure) designed to make sure we were in no fit state to play tiddly-winks, never mind table tennis.

Sunday gave some of us the opportunity to visit Perouges, a small medievel village close to Lyon. |
|
|
Like going back 500 years in one day.
And an excellent way to end the weekend.
|
|
|
Then there was the evening view over Lyon. |

Many thanks to all who travelled to make it a memorable weekend, but even more thanks to our hosts in Ste Foy.
We all look forward to the next one. |
